How do I obtain the registration form of temporary residence for visitor?

It is necessary for the person or the person (institution) staying overnight to apply for it at the police station of the district of residence.

According to Article 39 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, if foreigners reside in hotels within the territory of China, hotels shall handle accommodation registration for them in accordance with relevant regulations on hotel industry security management, and submit the registration information of foreigners' accommodation to the local public security authority.

If a foreigner resides or stays in a dwelling other than a hotel, he or she, or the person staying overnight, shall register with the local public security authority within twenty-four hours of the stay

• According to Article 76 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, a warning shall be given and a fine of up to Rmb2000 may be imposed in any of the following cases.

• Foreigners refuse to submit their exit and entry documents to the public security bureau for inspection.

• Foreigners Refuse to submit their residence documents to the public security bureau for inspection.

• Failure to handle foreign birth registration or death declaration in accordance with regulations.

• The registration content of a foreigner's residence permit has been changed but not been updated in local public security authority in accordance with regulations.

• Foreigners impersonatie others' exit and entry documents in China.

• Failure to register in accordance with Article 39 (2) of this Law.

When a foreigner enters or leaves the country to apply for a residence permit, the immigration authorities will often require the foreigners to provide their temporary residence registration forms. If this is not provided, the entry and exit authorities will usually refuse their applications for the extension, reissue or renewal of the foreigner's residence permit, which will impact on their work or stay in China.
